First Release, 5GB

Prestigious FIRST RELEASE factory sealed iPod.  Our example is the ultra-rare 5GB model, released October 23, 2001 (the 10GB model was released several months later).  Predating the iPhone by almost six years, high-end collectors consider the iPod to be the first elite collectable Apple product of the 21^st century.  Now 22 years old, a very limited number exist in factory sealed condition.  In fact, the majority of Apple collectors believe it to be rarer than the original iPhone.  This is the first 2001 iPod that we’ve offered in our auctions.

Beautiful in design, with outstanding display value, the piece measure six inches across all sides.  The top features the iconic Apple logo.  The side panels feature clean images of the iPod itself.  The front showcases the product name, “iPod”.  And finally, the item specifications are found on the reverse.  The all-important factory seal is clear and free from yellowing.  The box is grey and white in color with no signs of color fade or yellowing.  The iPod is considered a condition sensitive piece, and as such, various box imperfections are common.  We have included detailed photos of each side of piece and invite interested bidders to review the photos provided.  Overall, a very clean factory sealed example in excellent condition.  This is the product that marked the birth of the Apple handheld into the mainstream, and we are privileged to offer it to our worldwide audience for the very first time.  Part No. M8513LL/A (5GB)
