Randy Orton is one of the most popular figures in professional wrestling. His father, “Cowboy” Bob Orton Jr., teamed with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper to headline the very first Wrestlemania against Hulk Hogan and Mr. T in 1985. Randy Orton made his WWE television (then WWF) debut in 2002, and just two years later would becoming the youngest World Champion in the company’s history, winning the World Title at just 24 years old. His accomplishments rank him alongside the best of all time. He has held the WWE Championship 10 times, headlined multiple pay-per-views (including the most recent one, “Backlash”, earlier this month against John Cena), headlined multiple Wrestlemanias, won two Royal Rumbles, and has had more pay-per-view matches than any wrestler in history.

Event worn items are one of the fastest growing and most collectible categories in the hobby. WWE ring worn items are no exception. A pair of Hulk Hogan boots matched to a 1980s photoshoot sold for $66,000, and very recently a collection of Macho Man Randy Savage ring worn items hit the auction block with 6 of those items realizing between $10,000 and $27,000.  At Wrestlemania just last month, Fanatics Collectibles had a John Cena ring worn outfit from the “Elimination Chamber” pay-per-view match listed for sale at $75,000.

We are pleased to offer a genuine pair of ring worn and signed WWE trunks by “The Viper” Randy Orton – from his prime! The black trunks are made of a heavyweight material with custom cut and sewn graphics – certainly nothing one would find at retail. The trunks have black drawstrings and there are no tags on the inside. According to our consigner, the trunks were worn during a triple threat cage match on Raw in 2011. Our research confirms a style-match to the main event on Monday Night Raw, a #1 Contender’s Steel Cage Match that took place on January 3, 2011. We have linked the video of the match below and added photos from the match to the listing. The trunk show great wash wear with loose threads aplenty (its highly likely they were worn in multiple matches!). To top it off, Orton has autographed the shorts on the reverse in silver paint pen and inscribed his nickname, “The Viper”.
