AFA population of the Poster Offer card is difficult to determine because many are simply labeled “Series 1 / 12 Back” – this is a catch-all label that includes Poster Offer, Fan Club Offer, and Stepphenwolf Offer. Under this label, there are none graded higher than 85 (pop 8).
There is also a “Series 1 / 12 Back Poster Offer” label, with the following population: AFA 75 – 2, AFA 60 – 2, AFA 40 – 1.
In summary, there are no Batman Poster Offer cards graded higher than AFA 85.
Ultra high-grade Batman 12-Back from Series 1 in 1984. Although not an exact science, its widely believed amongst Super Powers aficionados that the “Free Poster Offer” card is the first release of 12-Backs in the Super Powers toyline, predating the both the “Fan Club Offer” and “Stepphenwolf Offer” cards. Only 7 of the 12 characters are known to exist on “Poster Offer” cards:
Superman
Batman
Robin
Joker
Green Lantern
Flash
Aquaman
Then came the “Fan Club Offer” and “Stepphenwolf Offer” cards that include the original 7 plus the next 5 characters:
Hawkman
Wonder Woman
Lex Luthor
Brainiac
Penguin
Our first release Batman offering is simply magnificent. Impeccable condition all-around: card, bubble, and figure. The card is unpunched and showcases exceptional color. No creases, no edgewear - front or back. No price tag sticker residue or imprint. The only imperfection we identified is an almost imperceptible vertical vein at the bottom edge of the card located to the left of the CONTENTS text. Otherwise, flawless. The bubble is crystal clear and retains perfect form. No dents, no cracks, no yellowing, no surface wear. The Batman action figure showcased within is pristine. It’s important to note this is the highly desirable US release, not the Canadian release. A piece that checks every box, and certainly one that many will have an eye on as we approach August 24th.
