There are few collectibles from the glorious decade of the 1980’s as iconic as Optimus Prime. Widely considered one of the most prestigious pieces in the entire G1 line, an early release factory sealed Optimus Prime is one that is on everyone’s short list. To the disappointment of collectors, supply falls far short of demand and even some of the most seasoned collectors find this early release eluding them. Even the later released “rubsign” versions with R box (“®”) are being swept up by savvy collectors/investors. It has been over two and a half years since a factory sealed early release Optimus Prime “prerub” has hit the auction block.
