AFA 85 is the highest graded example found in AFA’s population report. Only recently have they begun designating “short mask” (first release) from “long mask” on the labeling so we cannot be quite sure how many first release 85’s are in the population. At most there are five, with none graded higher.

First Release “Short Mask”. First release examples are most easily identified with presence of the “Comic Book and Poster Included” text along the bottom edge.
