Rare First Release Panthor with Black Backdrop

Exceedingly rare MISB first-release Panthor. We searched the auction archives, and this is the first factory sealed example to hit the auction block. It’s widely speculated that Mattel quickly replaced the black backdrop with red because Panthor was too difficult to see. Very few first release examples have survived. Various box imperfections throughout – see photos. Each end is factory tape sealed and there is no colorbreak whatsoever along the front edges. Window is lightly tinted and appropriately assigned a Y (yellowing) designation. Panthor toy within is in mint condition. Overall, a well-presenting example especially from the front.
