Beautiful dual-sided Kenner store display from their 1981 Empire Strikes Back toy line. Often referred to as “Bell” because of their bell-shape, these bright red displays were created to introduce the second wave of figures for the Empire Strikes Back line. They were intended to hang from above retail displays and catch the eye of customers (see photo). According to SWCA, only 1344 were produced and it’s fair to say that only a small handful have survived the decades, as evidenced by AFA’s published population report listing only 14 graded examples.
Our display is all-original showcasing beautiful color front and back (please note that there is no fading – anything that may look like color fade in the photos is due to very bright lighting). The piece is perfectly flat with no bowing. Various surface markings and creases on both sides – see photos. Our last example, an AFA 90, realized an impressive $16,648 in the Summer of 2023, click here. These rarely come to market, and as such, we expect active bidding on this popular display piece. Outstanding eye appeal!
Approximately 19.5 inches top to bottom and 16.5 inches side to side.
