POP 4 – According to the AFA Population Report, this is one of only four AFA 80 examples that are factory sealed. None are graded higher. There is a total factory sealed AFA graded population of 5.
Large and heavy item, see dimensions below.
Exceedingly rare factory sealed H.Q. Command Center, a popular ARAH playset from 1983. This is the first large playset released by Hasbro as part of their G.I. Joe: ARAH toy line. As such, nearly every one was ripped opened and played with, so it’s not surprising that so few units have survived in their original factory sealed state. Our red label example is an AFA 80, none are graded higher. It’s the first time we have ever offered the H.Q. Command Center playset (in any grade). It comes to LCG from the same prestigious collection as the Missile Commander Center AFA 85 ($34,240) and the MOBAT AFA 85 ($24,427) that we offered in previous auctions. Please take a careful look at the photos provided. Toning is present throughout and there is a bit of paper loss in spots along the perimeter. The good news is that the all-important front panel is in the best condition of all the box panels. Box art looks terrific with great color and no fading. Each end is factory tape sealed. Hobby veterans know just how special this piece is, especially in factory sealed condition. It is the only factory sealed example, in any grade, ever to appear at auction, only open-box blue label (Q) have sold previously. We are privileged to offer it in the highest graded ever assigned. Please note fracturing is present on the acrylic casing – this does not affect their piece itself. Approximately 30 x 7.5 x 20 inches.
