The iPhone made its highly anticipated European debut on November 9, 2007. Offered only in 8GB form, it retailed in the UK for £269 ($538) and locked buyers into an 18 contract with exclusive provider O2.
Less than 3 months later, the upgraded 16GB model debuted in Europe on February 5th, 2008.
The European release differs from the US release most notably in the larger box size and the inclusion of the O2 logo on the reverse (instead of AT&T). Unlike the early release models in the US, the Euro early releases featured 13 icons on the face, not 12.
