Highly desirable factory sealed first generation Apple iPhone released in 2008.  On February 5, 2008, Apple doubled the available storage capacity and released a 16GB version.

The original iPhone in factory sealed condition is widely regarded as a blue-chip asset amongst high-end collectors.  Impressive public sales of $35,414 in August 2022, $39,339 in October 2022, and $63,356 in February 2023 resulted in widespread media coverage from major outlets including CNNNPR, BBC, and others.

We are pleased to present an iconic factory sealed, single-owner first generation iPhone in outstanding condition.  Ironically, our consignor and his former employer, Digital Equipment Corporation, worked with Apple in the early 1980's:

I was the District Sales Manager for Northern California for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) when Apple was building its manufacturing capacity and began to buy high dollar minicomputer (PDP-11 and VAX) products to manage their Inventory Logistics system.  As that relationship developed, I met Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak as well as several others in key management positions.  While the initial meeting between Jobs and Ken Olsen, Founder and CEO of DEC, in that time frame did not go especially well, a strong mutual respect developed as well as a strong Customer-Supplier-Technology business.

I purchased an extensive series of Apple computers and other products for home and office use over the years since becoming enamored by  their attention to design, detail, and beautiful User Interface (U/I).  I purchased this very early iPhone from Apple, but this had nothing to do with my early experience with Apple personnel.  However,  I was nervous about how well I would handle complex discussions on the phone while driving my car so I placed it unopened in my home office while the mobile phone industry continued to develop.  When I did get comfortable that I wouldn't put myself and others at risk by using a cell while operating my vehicle, newer phones with larger memory, better screens, and added features were available from Apple. Thus, it was retained as an example of the incredible progress that been achieved in all aspects of personal communication and event recording that has occurred since I entered the Industry in 1969.

This 16GB example presents a tremendous opportunity for hobbyists looking to add a genuine factory sealed first generation iPhone to their collection.  Model A1203, Order MB384LL/A (16GB)
