In 1982, following a six-year hiatus, Hasbro revived the G.I. Joe toy-line with 3.75-inch figures, branding it: A Real American Hero. The relaunch was wildly successful becoming what many consider the most iconic toy-line of the 1980’s. Thoroughly embedded in popular culture, the ARAH brand and its characters remain popular to this day.

There is no playset more popular amongst hobbyists than the iconic USS Flagg released as part of Series Four in 1985. This massive playset is extremely difficult to find factory sealed. Afterall, no one thought to preserve a sealed example. Instead, kids fortunate enough to score a Flagg, ripped open the box, as intended, to play with their massive aircraft carrier. Not surprisingly, only a scant few have survived in factory sealed condition.

Presented is the highest-grade ever achieved for a factory sealed USS Flagg– a jaw-dropping AFA 85 masterpiece!  The playset was originally released in 1985, almost 40 years ago, when the ARAH toyline was at its peak. Our example arrived at AFA in “uncirculated” condition - the original cardboard packing slip still covered the piece. The professionals at AFA removed the slip for the very first time and assigned the playset a red label grade of 85. Please note, the original shipping sleeve is included in the lot. We invite interested parties to view the photographs provided. Colors are vivid with impressive features throughout. Both sides remain factory tape sealed, and the giant aircraft carrier is preserved within.

The USS Flagg is the most iconic playset in the entire hobby (across all toylines), and one of the most recognizable and desirable toys of the 1980’s. This example is a true masterpiece with no others graded higher, and it is unquestionably one of the most exciting collectibles that LCG has had the privilege to offer to our global audience.
