Exceedingly rare FULLY VISIBLE EXTENDED DT SABER
“Hobby Fresh”, consigned directly by the original owner who purchased it in the late 1970’s while working as a manager at Fedco department store.
The all-time record sale for a production action figure was established in our 2022 Spring Premier Auction when a 1978 12 Back-C Luke Skywalker (AFA 90) with “Double Telescoping” saber sold for $100,251.
Our current Luke Skywalker offering, also a 12 Back-C, and also equipped with “Double Telescoping” lightsaber, showcases an ultra-desirable feature that places it into an elite category. Here, we have the item’s most important feature, the DT lightsaber - it’s fully extended and visible within the sealed blister. The provenance of the piece is iron-clad, coming straight to us from the original owner who purchased it in the late 1970’s while working as a manager at Fedco department store. The condition of the card is impeccable. It’s unpunched, no price tag sticker, and exhibits outstanding color. The bubble is crystal clear and retains perfect form with no sign of bubble lift whatsoever. The action figure itself, complete with the ever-important “Double Telescoping” lightsaber (fully extended), stands perfectly upright with white robe/shirt free of discoloration. Following the collectibles formula that states desirability times scarcity equals value, one can certainly understand why this piece will be the talk of the Star Wars collectible community as we approach March 24th.
