According to the AFA population data, AFA 80+ is the second highest grade ever assigned to a Battle Ram 8-Back (pop 1). There are only two graded higher, both AFA 85. There are only 9 factory sealed examples in the population across all grades.
Iconic early release MOTU vehicle featuring He-Man on the box art. This is the only AFA 80+ in the population. There are two AFA 85, one of them was previously sold in our 2023 winter auction for a record $20,919. Our current offering is the next best thing. High quality box with a canvas-like texture on the front. Imperfections are few and include edgewear along the front edge, and light surface wear on the front panels and bottom panel. The piece comes factory sealed with no color break along the left edge and a light color break along the right edge. The reverse showcases 8 action figures, and 4 additional early releases. Some toning is present, but the piece is free of a flap crease found on most examples. Features unique to the 8-back release (not found on the later released 12-back) include: the bottom of the box is completely black in color, there is only one Masters logo on the front, and the reverse displays only eight action figures. With the vast majority of collectors priced out of the 8-back example, this lot makes for an interesting watch as we approach October 13th. Approximately 13 x 6.5 x 12.
