In 1978, figures for the Italian market were made by Harbert and they released their own set of 12 backs with bubble layout and art very similar to their Kenner counterparts. A major distinction is the Harbert logo prominently displayed on the front and back of these cardback designs. Some of the characters were translated for words that weren't native to Italian, but R2-D2 oddly translated to C1P8 (nowhere near a true to form translation). Why his particular translation was done, we may never know, but it is a great conversation starter!

Strong display value here relative to grade. Several creases on the card front and back but they don’t detract much from the aesthetic. Crystal clear bubble displays beautiful figure within. Minor denting in the stem area of the bubble. Overall, an attractive specimen that we believe offers far superior display value than its technical grade would indicate. Freshly graded by AFA in December 2024. Encapsulated by AFA (70+, 70-75-85), #111981043
