Rare Variant: MADE IN TAIWAN 

POP 3 - This is one of only three AFA 85 MADE IN TAIWAN examples found in AFA’s population report, none are graded higher.

Our example is missing the Made in Taiwan distinction on the grading label. There are two Made in Taiwan AFA 85 in the population report - our example is the third.

Ultra high-grade R2D2 on 12 Back-A card from 1978. Veteran collectors are well-aware that finding an R2 in “triple 85” is extremely difficult. Our unpunched example showcases a nearly flawless card. No price tag sticker residue or imprint. No edgewear. Great color on front. The bubble retains original factory form – no dents, no fractures. We must note that the bubble has lightly tinted since grading. The R2 action figure is upright rests on a blue footer. His appendages do appear a bit darker than his trunk. Overall, a nice unpunched example assigned an elusive AFA 85-85-85.
