An exceptional display piece of the very first release of He-Man from the Masters of the Universe line. The 8-back test market release is unique in that its cardback is without warranty and without SKU. It also contains the comic book with the “Free” logo unique to test market and 2nd card releases. Our example does not disappoint. The coveted reverse depicting the first eight figures is simply immaculate: bright white and nearly flawless. The bubble, although yellowed with a slight fracture behind the foot, is firmly secured to the card in its original state. Although we didn’t notice it initially, the left side of the bubble along the comic book has been carefully sliced and further examination reveals the comic shows a bit of wear. It stands to reason that the comic was removed at some point and then inserted back. Because of this, CAS has assigned a “loose” grade to this piece. Still, this one displays like a champ and presents an attractive opportunity for a value-minded collector seeking to place a professionally graded Test Market He-Man into his display case.
