Attractive MOTU giftset featuring Battle Armor Skeletor and Panthor released in 1984. This version features the attractive Battle Armor version of Skeletor and showcases brand new box art at the top. Front of the box exhibits various minor imperfections – see photos. However, the all-important top flap depicting the artwork is pristine with perfect color and completely free of condition issues – as is the reverse (pristine!). Each end of the box is factory tape sealed. There is very light color break along the vertical front edges. Display window retains perfect form with the only imperfection being a vertical surface scratch at the top at midpoint. Skeletor and Panthor are correctly positioned within the box and Skeletor stands straight up in an ideal position. His staff, originally attached to the red cardboard backing with tape, is now loose within (very common). The Skeletor action figure does exhibit a bit of Panthors purple flock on his surface, also very common with this release (80 subgrade). Please note there is a bit of fracturing located out-of-sight on the bottom panel of the acrylic case (it does not affect the piece itself). Overall, a very nice example and a must-have release for vintage MOTU collectors. Just last month, this issue, graded AFA 85y, realized an impressive $12,148 at auction. This auction presents a tremendous opportunity to acquire BOTH releases of the iconic Skeletor & Panthor Giftset.
