We are privileged to present an extraordinary collection of early release Series One “8-backs” from the wildly popular Masters of the Universe toyline. These iconic action figures, released in 1982, were consigned from a single collection that was carefully curated over several years. “8-Backs”, featuring the original eight characters on the reverse, are considered “Holy Grails” in the MOTU collecting community.
High-grade early release 8-back Skeletor ideally paired with the The Vengeance of Skeletor comic. Difficult to find with clear or near-clear bubble, this one is only lightly tinted and presents beautifully (we must note that it would likely receive a "y" designation if submitted for a regrade). Unlike the later 12-back release, the 8-back Skeletor action figure features boots that are only painted halfway around his ankles and feet. Our example is atypically strong in all three areas: card, bubble, and figure. One of the most popular pop culture villains of the 1980’s, we expect MOTU collectors and crossover collectors alike to come to play when this one hits the auction block on October 16th.
