Exceptional R2D2 in an elite grade.  R2 12-Backs are notoriously difficult to obtain in AFA 85 grade and we are very fortunate to present this one to our high-end collectors.  The last sale of an AFA 85 1978 R2D2 12-Back realized $17,700 on March 22, 2023 (12 Back-A).  This unpunched example is simply sensational with a card free from creases, veins, and edgewear.  No price tag sticker residue.  The only blemish we could find was at the bottom corner and its very minor.  The reverse is just as strong as the front.  Bubble and figure are both exceptional.  A great piece that’s certainly worthy of its ultra-high grade.  Encapsulated by AFA (85), 08720353
