Ultra rare AFA red label Lion Force Giftset from the highly coveted Matchbox Voltron line released in 1985. Unlike the more common Voltron toys released by Panosh Place and LJN, the Matchbox releases, especially the giftsets, were of exceptional high-quality (die cast). The offered giftset is the “holy grail” in the Voltron line, and it’s rare - very rare. In fact, AFA has only assigned a red label to six examples (inclusive of all grades) in its 25 year history.

This is the first red label example to hit the market in almost five years. It was last acquired ungraded over 10 years ago and was later graded by the industry leader AFA in 2019. Brilliant box art and images are found on every panel. The piece is truly awesome and undoubtably one of the most impressive toys every released. Imperfections are found throughout and are visible in the photos provided. Top and bottom panel are factory sealed. With this particular piece, AFA gives the option to display it with open window or closed window. The owner opted for closed window due to spacing issues and that is the reason for the exclusion of subgrades. It was freshly recased by AFA in August in preparation for our Fall Auction and will undoubtably be a welcome addition to any high-end collection. Approximately 14.5 x 4.5 x 20.5 inches.
