Dating back to 1978, and following Kenner’s first mail-away redemption, Star Wars action figures began hitting retail shelves.  The first twelve, now known as 12 Back-A, were an instant sensation and were followed by two subsequent releases known as 12 Back-B and 12 Back-C. The first release of 12-As also had a limited amount of figures that included a number (SKU) on the figure stand. It is assumed they found the printing of SKU on the stand redundant in the production process early on and a very limited amoun of SKU footer 12 backs still exist. 

 We are proud to offer an extremely attractive first-release Artoo-Deeto (R2-D2).  This sharp looking 12 Back-A R2 has a brillaintly white sticker.
