Highly desirable “SKU Footer” variant. The SKU 12 Back-A are generally considered to be the very first releases of Star Wars carded action figures from Kenner in 1978.

Stormtrooper villain figure in 12 Back-A release from Kenner in 1978. The 12 Backs, specifically “A” have separated themselves from the pack in regard to value and desirability. This is a beautiful unpunched example with few imperfections. There is a bit of edgewear as well as a very small rabbit ear on the bottom corner and out of sight. Otherwise, the piece is outstanding – no creases or veins on front and just a small light vein on the reverse. The clear bubble retains perfect form although there is a bit of rub on the side of the bubble where the blaster was once held (now at his feet). Figure within looks great with very light yellowing on his right thigh and hand. It’s been over three years since we have been able to offer an SKU Stormtrooper. Our last example, also an AFA 80, sold for $3,421 in early October 2021.
